Samsung vs Huawei vs Apple: Battle For Top Smartphone Maker in 2020

Samsung vs Huawei vs Apple: Battle For Top Smartphone Maker in 2020

The race to become the top smartphone maker in 2020 has begun however, the top is only big enough to accommodate the big players with significant results.  In the battle of Samsung vs Huawei vs Apple each will be looking to clinch the top spot regardless of weakened economies globally. In this article, we will look at how the smartphone market is shared among these top smartphone makers and will take a closer look at each of their latest smartphone flagship releases.

The Big Smartphone Wars

At the end of 2019, Samsung remained comfortable as the top smartphone maker after shipping a staggering amount of almost 300 million phones, leaving Apple and others to catch their breath as they watch. Surprisingly, Huawei knocked Apple out of the second spot to become the number two best-selling smartphone manufacturer after shipping around 240 million units, compared to Apple’s 200 million.

Many people were amazed at how Huawei managed to pull such a high jump despite its continuous presence in the United States entity list. This setback prevents them from installing and offering Google App services on its devices. Regardless of this, Huawei went on to create its operating system and services, which has somehow received massive acceptance within the Chinese province and some parts of the world. Although Apple lost its second spot, it doesn’t change the fact that Apple remains number one when it comes to making a profit and continues to claim the top technology company worldwide.

The year 2020 has come with a sweet-bitter taste, and both consumers and manufacturers have been strategizing on how best to stay above water amid the coronavirus pandemic impact on trade. With six months to go, it’s going to be an interesting watch to see how the smartphone market share will be dragged in all directions by these unrelenting big technology companies.

A Smartphone Comparison

We have carefully selected from among the latest and most sophisticated phones manufactured by these three big companies. We shall look at their sharp features and why they have continued to dominate the market and a frenzy in the news.

We have picked the Samsung Galaxy S20+, Huawei Mate 30 Pro, and Apple’s iPhone XS Max. The primary reason for picking these is because of their prices as they all cost above $1000.

Let’s begin!

Samsung Galaxy S20+

So first on the list is the Samsung Galaxy S20+; this is probably the most compact phone and most recent smartphone released by Samsung. This is a compact phone that has the latest technology you can think of; fastest cheapest (Snapdragon 805), RAM (8-12GB LPDDR5), UFS 3.0 Storage, three cameras and the screen is made up of the latest QuadHD AMOLED screen and 125hz panel.

These features can only be found in phones made for the future, and surprisingly the battery life is excellent. Samsung did well by leading the pack in 2019, and they are also doing the best to lead with 5G integration as they have integrated 5G technology into this smartphone device.

Huawei P40 Pro

Huawei is leaving no stone unturned as they released this masterpiece device in March 2020. The Huawei P40 Pro is among Huawei’s compact flagship devices as it has excellent features and the latest 5G integration, just like the Samsung Galaxy S20+. This achievement sends a strong message to Apple and Samsung that their top spot is threatened as Huawei can attract doubting customers and skyrocket their sales to be the top smartphone maker in 2020. Of course, they will have to achieve their objective without Google App and services working on the device, which might take them more time and marketing resources. The device weighs 209g and a size of 6.59 inches, making it bigger than its rivals in this comparison.

iPhone 11 Pro Max

We have over 100 smartphone companies trying so hard to keep up with new technologies and growing consumer satisfaction, but here is Apple doing its best to release only one model of flagship product per year. Apple released the iPhone 11 Pro Max in September 2019, and it has been in high demand across the world ever since.  The 11 pro max comes in a 6.5inches size and a Super Retina XDR OLED capacitive touchscreen. It also has an average memory of 4gb RAM and 64GB internal space, which is lower when compared to Samsung galaxy s20+ that comes with a 128GB. It also has an average 3046 mAh battery capacity and a very apt facial recognition feature, which is second to none at the moment. For a better comparison, we have highlighted their key features in the table below. Looking Forward – Samsung vs Huawei vs Apple

The battle for the top smartphone maker of 2020 is yet to be won. However, a bigger question being asked at the moment is – what does the future hold for Huawei if they can regain their Android and Google App and service integration? They would have to build a persuasive local authority and a global acceptance that might be second to none. Apple and Samsung might be full of surprises, so we continue to look out for the ice breaker in 2020.
