Evolving FusionReactor On-Premise Licensing for Greater Flexibility and Consistency

Evolving FusionReactor On-Premise Licensing

As part of our ongoing efforts to simplify and modernise FusionReactor, we’re introducing an update to the way on-premises licensing works.

This change is designed to bring greater consistency across our platform, align with how many of our customers already use FusionReactor in the cloud (OpsPilot) and provide more flexibility as environments evolve.

Licensing will be updated during April 2026, please contact Customer Success with any questions.

Why we’re making this change

Over time, we’ve continued to invest in making FusionReactor easier to use, easier to scale, and easier to manage.

Many of our customers today run increasingly dynamic environments:

  • scaling applications up and down
  • using containers and modern deployment models
  • managing multiple instances across shared infrastructure

To better support this, we’re aligning our on-premise licensing with a model that is already well-established in our cloud platform.

What’s changing

Under the updated model:

  • 1 license seat covers:
    • Up to 4 instances on a single host, or
    • Up to 4 Docker containers

This provides a clear and consistent way to understand how capacity is measured, regardless of how your environment is deployed.

Supporting flexibility with on-demand usage

We are also introducing support for on-demand usage for on-premise subscriptions.

This means:

  • You can scale beyond your reserved capacity when needed
  • Temporary increases in usage can be handled seamlessly
  • You only pay for additional capacity when it’s actually required

This is particularly useful for:

  • migrations
  • seasonal traffic
  • short-term scaling needs

What this means for existing customers

We understand that many customers have built their environments over time based on previous licensing models.

As part of this update:

  • We will ensure you have clear visibility into your current usage
  • We are taking a measured approach to transition, so you have time to review and plan
  • We’ll work with you to make sure your licensing aligns with how your environment is actually used

Our goal is to make this transition as smooth and predictable as possible.

What you need to do

There’s no immediate action required.

We’ll be in touch with more details, and if you’d like help reviewing your current setup or understanding how this applies to your environment, our team is always happy to assist.

Looking ahead

This update is part of a broader effort to ensure FusionReactor continues to provide:

  • consistent licensing across environments
  • flexibility as your infrastructure evolves
  • clear and predictable scaling

We’re excited to bring these improvements to our on-premise customers and will continue to refine the experience based on your feedback.
