Debugging ColdFusion Applications with FusionDebug: Stepping Through Your CFML Code, Including CFCs, Calls from Flex, Ajax, and Flash Remoting and more
When developing ColdFusion applications (CFCs and CFMs), especially when calling them from client-side tools like Flex, Ajax, and Flash Remoting (as well as web services), but really for all CFML development, it can be challenging trying to debug problems. With such client apps, for instance, they may expect data of a certain type, so adding a CFDUMP or random CFOUTPUT won't help you. In many typical development cases, there are tags in CFML that will even prevent any output being generated at all. In such instances, an interactive step debugger is the perfect solution.
In this training, veteran CFML developer Charlie Arehart will introduce FusionDebug and demonstrate how easy it is to use. He'll also point out its advantages over traditional debugging techniques as well as show tips and traps in using the tool, including debugging CFML code called from client-side applications.
